LABELLING OF MAINTENANCE OF THE TEXTILE PRODUCTS

Even if not obligatory it turns out of fundamental importance to define for every practical textile product
which can be it of maintenance to this applicable.
The instructions for the maintenance of an apparel head are outlined from a graphical, independent simbols from the language, put to point from the GINETEX (Groupment International di Etiquetage pour the Entretien de Textiles) that he is owner. The graphical signs are object of Mark regularly deposited.
The GINETEX has delegated to its members the assignment to promote the graphical signs otherwise to grant the reproduction right and of the use of the same ones, the GINETEX is also of agreement between the ISO resumes this system for put it in one international norm.
In Italy the ' Codes of labelling of maintenance by means of graphical signs ' have been get with norm UNI EN 23758/94, official version of European norm EN 23758/93 that gets international norm ISO 3758/91.
The cited norm is fruit of a compromise between two requirements, from a side that one of the easy, for give comprehensible to the users of whichever Country independently from theirs language, and the other that one of the thoroughness of the information, to the aim to prevent whichever damage caused from the treatments of maintenance.
For easily of exposure of followed here they come brought back the important parts of the norm:

2.     Definitions
To the aims of the present norm the following definitions are applied:
2. 1.   producing textile: Spun, semiworked and articles manifactured mainly with textile materials
2. 2.   wet washing: Operation destined to clean up the textile produced ones in watery bath
The treatment of washing comprises all or some of the following operations, right you arrange:
      - wetting, prewashing and main washing - carried out generally to warmth, by means of mechanical operation with produced detergents or atri and rinsing
      - extraction of the water, obtained for centrifugalization or squeezing, in the course and/or to the end of the previous operations.
These treatments can by hand be carried out to machine or
2. 3.   Chlorine bleaching: Operation in watery bath, practiced before, during or after the operations of washing with the employment of a made up of product chlorine destined to eliminate spots and/or to improve the white man.
2. 4.   Ironing: Operation carried out on a textile product to the aim to restore the shape and the aspect originals by means of an appropriate equipment that uses heat and pressure.
2. 5.   Dry washing: Operation destined to clean up the textile produced ones for means of organic dissolvents. This treatment comprises the cleaning, the water treatment, the centrifugalization and the driyng.
2. 6.   Driyng to means of driyng machine with roll drum: Operation carried out on a textile product after the washing and destined to eliminate the residual water for means of warm air, in a drum in spin.

      Pict. 7
3. 1. 8. Treatment much moderating
Beyond to the 5 graphical signs from 3,1,1 to 3,1,5, the bar interrupted under the tank indicates a treatment of washing much moderating to 40C
      Pict. 8
3. 2.   Wet washing
The tank indicates the treatment of domestic washing by hand or machine (to see pict. 1) and used in order to to supply information approximately the temperature maximum of the water and the maximum intensity of the washing operation, like indicated in prospect I.

4.     Labelling and employment of the graphical signs
4. 1.   Labelling of the graphical signs
The defined graphical signs in 3, owe to be brought back in permanent way on a label fixed
to the textile product or directly on textile the graphical signs they can be obtained par tessitura the press or other procedures and owe to bring back and to conserve, during the life of the product, in reading way, all the information for the prescribed maintenance.
The labels owe to be constituted from suitable material with resistance to the treatment of maintenance indicated on the at least even label to that from the product on which they are applied.
The graphical labels and signs owe have one sufficient dimension for being easy reading.
And important that the graphical labels and signs are realized so as to to easy be able to be reading from the consumer. The labels owe to be fixed in permanent way to the fabrics so as
to to easy be able to be localized and to be read from the consumer. No part of the graphical
signs dave to be hidden, as an example one bar covered from a hem.
The graphical signs of maintenance can also appear on a label fixed in not permanent way to the product or to its packing can have the same graphical signs are brought back on the
product in permanent way, to exception of the fabrics sold in meters.
